. The two fabrics designs [above] are from the men's shirts. The one at left is the more tradition type of design, the one at right with the ikat is a modern variation. With the gorgeous shirts and the handwoven white pants adorned with embroidered designs, the men of San Pedro la Laguna have among the most beautiful men's traje in Guatemala. [Below] Artists Mario Gonzalez Chavajay and his older brother Pedro Rafael Gonzalez Chavajay momentarily rest at the edge of Lake Atitlán. Both of their shirts are of a modern designs which use figurative ikat, still typical of San Pedro.

The rebozos [shawls] above are both modern, but the one on the right is a modern version of the style rebozo from San Pedro popular in the middle of the twentieth century (also pictured below), the one at the left is typical of those used today. Among the women of San Pedro there has been a resurgence of interest in the use the traditional rebozos.
